If you are considering re-homing your pet pig, please understand that a sanctuary is not the same setting as a private home – the animals are cared for, fed, given shelter and veterinary care when needed, but do not receive the personal attention they may be accustomed to, due to the number of residents involved. If possible, consider placing your pet with a trusted family member or friend, and offer to pay for the pig’s food, bedding (straw/hay/blankets/etc.), and other necessities as needed.
If you are experiencing behavioral or other issues with your pet, which if resolved, could allow the pig to remain in your home, we will be happy to assist and advise you, resulting in a happier environment for both you and your pet. If this is the case, please see our “Request for Assistance” Form.
Sadly, at this time, all rescues/sanctuaries, including Lil’ Orphan Hammies, are at or above capacity. We do, however, have an extensive network of people we work with in order to re-home pet pigs. If you are unable to keep or find a suitable home for your pet pig, please fill out the following form, and we will contact you.
